General
Why do rich text labels appear stretched in HTML?
Rich text labels have a Stretch property that is enabled by default in VCollab Pro. To prevent stretching in HTML exports, disable this property before exporting.
Can I select multiple cells in a VCollab table and apply formatting like in Excel?
Yes, you can select multiple cells and change their font size, color, and other formatting options.
Rich Text Labels
How can I apply a single color to a column, row, or a set of cells in a rich text label?
Open the rich text label interface by double-clicking on the label in VCollab Pro X.
Select the desired cells (column or row).
Navigate to Table -> Cell -> Cell Properties.
Click on the Advanced tab.
Choose a background color.
Can I change the text orientation in a table cell from horizontal to vertical?
VCollab uses a basic HTML viewer that does not support text orientation changes. However, you may achieve this through HTML source editing.
Color and Part Management
Can I assign different colors to different parts for material assignment?
Yes, follow these steps:
Select parts using the Find Parts dialog.
Click on the Material Color button.
Choose a new color.
Click OK.
How can I display actual part names instead of part IDs in the product explorer tree?
This can be done using VMoveCAE:
Open VMoveCAE -> Settings -> Part Grouping -> ANSYS Bodies.
Load the .cdb file first.
Append it with the .rst file.
Web Viewer
Why are text fields embedded as images in HTML?
Plain text labels created using Add Notes and Add Table remain editable in HTML. However, rich text labels with complex formatting are embedded as images to maintain display consistency.
How do I navigate HTML data in the web viewer?
The web viewer includes a Viewpoint UI that allows users to browse through view paths and viewpoints.
Part Selection and Organization
Can I structure or group parts in the VCollab part list like in ANSYS?
No, VCollab does not support part grouping.
Can I rename parts?
Yes, you can rename individual parts.
Can I rename multiple parts with a suffix?
No, parts must be renamed one at a time.
Can I delete parts from the part list?
Yes, you can delete multiple parts at once.
How can I select parts? Will the selection be highlighted in the product tree?
VCollab supports multiple selection methods:
Double-click: Selects a single part, highlighting it in the product tree.
CTRL + Double-click: Selects multiple parts, highlighting the last selected part.
Find Parts: Allows searching by name and selecting parts.
Can I search for specific parts?
Yes, the Find Parts option allows users to search for parts using partial names and wildcard symbols.
Can I filter parts to hide, show, or hide others?
Yes, the Find Parts tool allows you to find parts and apply actions such as Hide, Show, or Hide Others.
Boundary Conditions
Does VCollab support displaying all boundary conditions from native CAE software?
Not all boundary conditions are supported. However, SPC boundary conditions can be visualized in VCollab Pro using the Symbol Plot feature.
