Find Parts

The Find Parts option found in the Part List tab, helps users to select a part or group of parts that can be searched by name.

Find Parts Panel

The various options found in the Find Parts panel are explained below

Select Model	Users can select a model.
Find What	Users can enter a part name to select the particular part or partial text to select a group of parts.
Find	Find part names as per the search options.
Found Parts	Lists the parts found and allows the user to select.
Select All	Selects all parts in the list
Deselect All	Deselects all parts in the list.
Invert Selection	Inverts the selection in the list.
Clear	Clears the list.
Action on Selected Parts	Allows users to select an action to be applied on the part selection in the viewer.
Close	Closes the dialog.

Steps to find and select the parts by name

• Load Airbag.cax file from VCollab sample folder.

• Click ‘Find…’ in the Part List panel found under Product explorer.

• All the parts in the CAX have names like ‘Object [index]’, where [index] is an integer.

• Type Object 152 and Click OK.

• The following parts are selected and highlighted by a bounding box.

  • Object 1520

  • Object 1521

  • Object 1522

  • Object 1523

• Use Case Sensitive or Wild Card Chars options for better accuracy.
